As a curator, I had the opportunity to organize and curate a photo exhibition for my friend, Robert Pasztor. The exhibition was titled "Music Pierces the Sky," inspired by a poem by Charles Baudelaire, and showcased my friend's photography centered around the punk and hardcore music scene. My role involved a range of tasks, including photo selection, image preparation for printing, and designing the overall concept for displaying the photographs. The exhibition was held for 6 days in the center of Sochaczew, with the generous support of the City Hall of Sochaczew, located in Mazovia, Poland.

MUSIC PIERCES THE SKY

Firstly, I carefully handpicked the photographs to be exhibited, considering their artistic and thematic relevance to the overall concept of the exhibition. Collaborating closely with my friend, we discussed vision and goals for the exhibition, and I conducted thorough research to ensure that the chosen photos aligned with the intended message and aesthetic of the exhibition. It was an exciting process to curate a diverse range of images that captured my friend's unique perspective.

Robert Pasztor

“I photograph for the love of it. Music inspires me, capturing moments in time. Emotions are expressed through music, and I encapsulate them in my images.”

I thoroughly prepared the selected photos for printing, paying meticulous attention to detail to ensure that they were of the highest quality and met the specific requirements for the exhibition.

This involved post-processing and editing of the images, including color correction, cropping, and resizing, to ensure that they would be visually appealing and impactful when printed and displayed.

I also took on the task of designing the overall concept for displaying the photographs in the exhibition space. This involved planning the layout, arrangement, and composition of the photos to create an engaging and cohesive visual narrative.

It was a creatively fulfilling process to envision how the photos would come together to create a captivating exhibition that would leave a lasting impression on the viewers.

I collaborated closely with my friend, to ensure that the exhibition was executed smoothly and met the intended vision. I also managed the logistical aspects of the exhibition, including coordinating the printing and framing of the photos, and overseeing the installation of the exhibition in the venue.

Designed a poster for the exhibition announcement and prepared keepsake cards for visitors to commemorate the event.

The culmination of all these efforts was a successful photo exhibition that not only showcased my friend's photography in a visually stunning and cohesive manner but also provided a unique and enjoyable experience for the viewers. The positive feedback and appreciation received from the audience further reinforced my passion for curating and creating meaningful exhibitions. This experience was not only professionally enriching but also a great source of fun and fulfillment!
