Lines Written in an Album, at Malta*
As o’er the cold sepulchral stone
Some name arrests the passer-by;
Thus, when thou view’st this page alone,
May mine attract thy pensive eye!
And when by thee that name is read,
Perchance in some succeeding year,
Reflect on me as on the dead,
And think my heart is buried here.

*When I was 10 years old, my Mom wrote a poem by Lord Byron in my journal. It was a special moment that I will always cherish. I remember feeling excited to read the poem and to have something so meaningful written just for me. As I read the words, I was struck by the beauty and power of language, and I knew that I wanted to experience more of it in my life. Looking back on that moment now, I feel grateful for my Mom's guidance and for the gift of poetry that she gave me. It has stayed with me all these years, and I continue to find solace and inspiration in the written word.
